Head of SOC (85K salary)

An international trade and service organization with nearly 13,000 employees spread over 450 offices in 32 countries and one of the largest family businesses in the Netherlands is looking for their new Head of SOC.

As Head of Security Operations Center (SOC) you lead the operation and further development of the SOC. Your expertise is needed to achieve the best results and achieve the predefined milestones. You contribute to process implementation for the SOC (including incident response) and the roll-out of technical solutions, such as vulnerability management, EDR/MDR and the establishment of a scalable SIEM platform. You also have close contact with the companies, suppliers and report periodically to the relevant business stakeholders and the various Boards. Finally, you oversee and coordinate the Corporate and Captives security incidents.

As a Head of SOC you report directly to the Chief Information Security & Privacy Officer of the organization and you are part of the Global Security Management Team.

Qualities you posses:

• People manager (internal and external SOC staff).
• Project management experience. Good ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Organizational sensitivity and experience in an internationally operating organization. Able to make good trade-offs between security and business interests.
• Senior profile with relevant SOC technical/organizational knowledge
• Provide support / advice to technicians in determining the right priorities and substantive questions
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, i.e. the ability to think systematically about the implications of problems in order to arrive at sound solutions
• Build, manage and refine processes to ensure compliance
• Is able to develop new initiatives to improve the security of the organization and increase the effectiveness of the SOC team.

Technical skills you possess:

• Hands-on and also able to serve as the primary point of contact for senior management.
• Experience with automation and setting up/implementing SOC platforms (such as SIEM, XOR, etc) and other SOC related tools
• 5+ years of professional work experience in information security
• Preferably has one or more of the following certifications: CISSP, SANS GIAC certifications (GCIH, GPEN, GSEC, etc.
